“The project, led by new group Advanced Functional Fabrics of America, will be announced by Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Friday. Advanced Functional Fabrics of America will work to create 50,000 textile jobs over the next nine years. Those jobs will help develop smart fabrics that can do things like store and convert energy, monitor a wearer’s health and change color.”
